The largest Island off the British mainland known as ‘England in Miniature’. This very popular holiday destination enjoys a delightful mix of rolling countryside, golden beaches, chalk cliffs, pretty olde worlde villages and traditional seaside resorts. Our base for this holiday is the resort of Sandown, the largest resort on the island, set around a lovely sheltered bay. There is a good choice of shops to explore, plus the pier and promenade and attractive parks and gardens for those refreshing walks.
- EXCURSIONS INCLUDED
- A full day excursion travelling via Ventnor and Brighstone to Alum Bay to see the famous multi coloured cliffs and some fine views of the Needles, the Island’s famous landmark. We then visit the resort of Yarmouth with its delightful harbour and marina and finally to Cowes, the famous yachting resort.
- Half day excursion visiting the quaint village of Godshill with its church, model village and lovely thatched cottages, then on to Newport, the island’s capital town with its fine Jacobean and Georgian houses that line the River Medina.
- OPTIONAL EXCURSION
- Short day excursion visiting Bembridge with its pretty harbour and windmill, then on to Ryde, the island’s largest town with an elegant esplanade, attractive Georgian and Victorian buildings, plus its half mile long pier.
