ITINERARY
- Day One: Pick up from your home (designated area) and transfer to Manchester Airport for our outward flight to New Zealand.
- Day Two: The day is spent in flight. Optional stop-overs in Los Angeles are available at a supplement charge.
- Day Three: Arrive in Auckland, the "City of Sails", This evening join your fellow travellers for a welcome dinner. (D) Overnight at the Duxton Hotel
- Day Four: Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Auckland and a visit to the War Memorial Museum, Tamaki waterfront and Waitemata Harbour. Later travel north to the Bay of Islands where we stay for two nights. (B, D)
- Day Five: Begin your day with a cruise through the famous Hole in the Rock and view Cape Brett Lighthouse. This afternoon visit the Waitangi Treaty House, then enjoy the remainder of your day exploring on your own. (B)
- Day Six: Depart for the city of Rotorua and enjoy a home stay* and dinner with a New Zealand’s family, a great way to meet the Kiwis and perhaps make a lifelong friend. (B, D)
- Day Seven: Visit a Thermal Reserve to see amazing geysers, hot springs, hot mud pools and the Kiwi bird! Tonight a traditional Maori welcome at a Hangi meal followed by songs, dances, and festivities. Overnight Rydges Hotel. (B, D)
- Day Eight: Travel south through the rolling countryside of the North Island to Wellington, New Zealand’s capital city. Two nights at the Duxton Hotel (B)
- Day Nine: A panoramic sightseeing tour of Wellington, see New Zealand’s Parliament, St. Paul’s Church and the largest wooden building in the Southern Hemisphere. (B)
- Day Ten: Travel by ferry to New Zealand’s South Island and on to the picturesque city of Christchurch. A sightseeing tour features the Neo-Gothic Cathedral and stunning Victorian-style buildings. Overnight at the Copthorne Central Hotel.
- Day Eleven: We board a Tranz Alpine train and journey into the heart of South Island. Marvel at the rugged snowcapped peaks and deep river gorges as you wind your way across to the spectacular west coast and the breathtaking Franz Josef Glacier region. Overnight at the Franz Josef Hotel. (B, D)
- Day Twelve: Enjoy stunning scenery as you pass through rain forest and travel the twisting coastline, a land of glacial lakes, thundering waterfalls and dramatic landscape changes. We arrive in Queenstown with dinner included at the Skyline Restaurant. Two nights at the A-Line Hotel (B, D)
- Day Thirteen: A day at leisure with optional excursions available. (B)
- Day Fourteen: Travel through the Hollyford Valley to Milford Sound. Enjoy a leisurely cruise of this spectacular fjord and experience the breathtaking surroundings. Overnight at the Te Anau Hotel, on the shores of Lake Te Anau. (B, L, D)
- Day Fifteen:
- Journey through unspoiled countryside to Dunedin, “The Edinburgh of the South.” This afternoon a visit the Royal Albatross Centre. Two nights at the Dunedin City Hotel. (B, D)
- Day Sixteen: A morning tour of this lovely city with some of the best preserved Edwardian Victorian architecture in the Southern Hemisphere. Enjoy an evening at leisure. (B)
- Day Seventeen: We journey further into the countryside and the Mount Cook National Park. Explore this marvellous land with a nature walk or an optional flightseeing tour (weather permitting). Overnight at the Hermitage Hotel. (B, D)
- Day Eighteen: Travel back to Christchurch where day is yours to explore this quaint city: Tonight celebrate the end of your tour as you dine in a restored mansion. Overnight at the Copthorne Central Hotel.
