Cardiff is not only the capital of Wales but a major cosmopolitan city. There are historical sites, modern shops, Victorian Arcades, pleasant parks, plus the magnificent Millennium Stadium, home to the Welsh National Rugby and soccer teams. Spend a weekend with us at the five star Hilton Cardiff, ideally located in the centre of the city, just a short stroll from the shopping malls, theatres and castle.
Itinerary
- Day One: Morning departure and drive via the North Wales coast to Wrexham, then on via Shrewsbury towards the Wye Valley. We continue through Hereford and pass Ross on Wye, Monmouth and Newport before arriving at our hotel in Cardiff. The remainder of the day will be free to relax and maybe this evening sample the capital nightlife.
- Day Two: A day at leisure for shopping or to explore the city. You might like to visit the castle with its Norman Motte and tower, and the fine 19th Century state apartments. The Millennium Stadium, Cathays Park and the Cardiff Bay Development including the new Millennium Centre are all worth a visit. Close to the hotel is the St. Davids shopping centre, plus the well preserved Victorian Arcades and covered market.
- Day Three: A further morning at leisure in Cardiff. We commence our return journey at 2.00 pm, arriving back in North Wales during the evening.
