Grassington is one of the many delightful small towns in the Yorkshire Dales, fast becoming a popular destination due to its attractive location on the river Wharfe. Centred around its cobbled square is a selection of family owned shops offering arts and crafts, quality foods, plants, clothing and gifts, alongside cosy cafes, restaurants and hotels. Each December Grassington is transported back to the time of Charles Dickens, see the village square and streets transformed into a traditional market with people dressed in period costume.
ITINERARY
- Day One: We travel across the Pennines and into the Yorkshire Dales to visit Grassington and the Dickensian Festival. Explore the stalls and experience the pleasure of doing some Christmas shopping in an atmosphere unlike any other. Enjoy the musicians, dancers and street entertainers with choirs, bands, handbell ringers, buskers, carol singers, Santa's Grotto and the Town Crier. We depart late afternoon and continue to our overnight hotel in the attractive Victorian spa town of Harrogate.
- Day Two: A morning at leisure to explore Harrogate, famous for its, tea-shops, floral displays, Turkish baths and antique shops. Afternoon departure for home.
