Hebridean Odyssey

A delightful island-hopping holiday in the Outer Hebrides where you can experience the enchanting scenery and relaxed pace of life that is enjoyed in these remote regions. The scenery is fascinating in its variety and the ferry crossings are an excellent way to view the many outlying islands. Enjoy a cruise from Oban along the Sound of Mull to the Isle of Barra, then see the tiny Isle of Eriskay, South Uist, Benbecula, North Uist, plus the Isles of Harris and Lewis. A wonderful tour encompassing the sheer beauty of these extraordinary Scottish islands.

Day One: We head north through the Scottish Borders and on to Stirling for an overnight stay at the Golden Lion Hotel.
Day Two: Continue along the shores of Loch Lomond and on to the resort of Oban. Here we board our ferry for a relaxing cruise along the Sound of Mull and on to the Isle of Barra, a chance to enjoy some fine views of other islands. (Dinner included on board this evening) Two nights stay at the Isle of Barra Hotel.
Day Three: A day of relaxation on this tiny and peaceful island where the main event of the day is when the plane from Glasgow lands on the beach! Noted for its beauty, Barra is only five miles across by eight miles long with stunning coastal scenery, white sand beaches, remarkable wildlife and diverse flora and fauna. (Optional excursion by mini coach to see the sights of Barra).
Day Four: Seven islands in one day! A morning crossing from Barra to the tiny Isle of Eriskay, linked to South Uist by a causeway. Continue north to Benbecula, then onward to North Uist and another scenic ferry crossing to the Isle of Harris. The final leg is to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis and the Cabarfeidh Hotel where we stay for the next two nights.
Day Five: A fascinating excursion exploring the delights of Lewis including “Scotland’s Stonehenge” at Callanish, the ancient thatched “blackhouses”, the Broch at Dun Carloway, plus a visit to a tweed mill.
Day Six: A morning at leisure in Stornoway, the largest town in the Western Isles. Afternoon crossing to Ullapool, then continue on through some delightful mountain scenery to Newtonmore and the Highlander Hotel where we stay overnight.
Day Seven: We head south towards the Border region and on via the motorways to North Wales.
