Fort William & the Jacobite



A delightful holiday to the Scottish Highlands with an included a trip on the famous Jacobite Steam Train. Described as one of the great railway journeys of the world, this 84 mile round trip takes you past a list of impressive extremes. It starts near the highest mountain in Britain, visits Britain's most westerly mainland station, passes close by the deepest freshwater loch and the shortest river in Britain and finally arrives next to the deepest seawater loch in Europe

  • Full day travelling along the shores of Loch Ness in search of the elusive legendary monster before continuing to the ancient city of Inverness, the bustling capital of the Highlands with its castle and fine specialist shops.
  • The highlight of the holiday – the Jacobite Train from Fort William to Mallaig. The train stops en route at Glenfinnan where Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard in 1745, then crosses the famous 21 arch viaduct (used in the Harry Potter movies). Enjoy wonderful views down Loch Shiel, then at Mallaig the train stops at the station giving you time to visit the museum in the station buildings.
