Every year at Springtime the bulbfields of Holland produce an explosion of colour with their magnificent displays, the most famous being the Keukenhof Gardens at Lisse. This 80 acre site boasts an array of colour compiled of millions of tulips, narcissi, daffodils and hyacinths to name but a few and is one of the most photographed sites in the world.
ITINERARY
- Day One: Travel to Hull where we board a luxury P&O cruise-ferry for an overnight sailing to Rotterdam. These superb ships have extensive facilities including restaurants, casinos, bars, cinemas and lounges with live entertainment. Accommodation is in 2 berth inside cabins with en suite facilities.
- Day Two: We disembark this morning and travel to Lisse for our visit to the spectacular Keukenhof Gardens, known as the “Greatest Flower Show on Earth”. Enjoy walking through the vast array of colours, in a beautiful park intersected by canals & lakes. Following our visit we continue on to the seaside resort of Ijmuiden and the Holiday Inn Hotel where we stay for two nights.
- Day Three: A full day visit to Amsterdam, famous for its bicycles, trams and glass-topped boats, plus those tall gabled buildings, narrow tree-lined streets and tiny bridges interlaced by numerous canals.
- Day Four: We check out and travel via the resorts of Noordwijk and Scheveningen to visit the beautifully preserved historic city of Delft, home of the famous Blue Pottery. Perhaps take a canal boat ride in the historic traffic free inner city. Continue to Rotterdam for the overnight sailing to Hull.
- Day Five: After disembarking in Hull we head home to North Wales, arriving during the afternoon.
