A weekend break to Yorkshire based in the attractive Victorian spa town of Harrogate with an included drive into Herriot Country and a visit to the City of York. Known as 'England's Floral Town' Harrogate is famous for its floral displays and tea shops, and has a fascinating spa heritage with buildings of note that include the Royal Pump Room and Turkish Baths.
ITINERARY
- Day One: Travel east across the Pennines and on to Harrogate, arriving around mid-day. Afternoon at leisure to explore.
- Day Two: We visit the historic city of Ripon then continue on into Herriot Country and the lovely olde worlde town of Thirsk. An opportunity to visit ‘The World of James Herriot’, situated in the original Grade two listed house. Re-live the TV series 'All Creatures Great and Small' in three studio sets which include many original props including the Austin 7 car.
- Day Three: A visit to the magnificent City of York with its numerous award winning visitor attractions. Depart for home mid-afternoon.
