The delightful west coast of Ireland, a largely unspoilt area of contrasting landscapes with rich green countryside, rolling hills and sleepy villages with their colourful shop-fronts. Visit the lovely historic city of Galway, see the famous Cliffs of Moher and explore the Burren, an area of County Clare described as a ‘lunarlike’ limestone plateau.
ITINERARY
- Day One: Early departure to Holyhead for the HSS fast ferry to Ireland, continue on via Tipperary and Limerick to Lisdoonvarna where we stay for the next four nights.
- Day Two: At leisure to relax and enjoy St Patrick’s Day in Lisdoonvarna with an optional visit to Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, the most complete and authentic medieval castle in Ireland. Tonight enjoy some great entertainment and Irish ‘Craic’.
- Day Three: Full day visit to the city of Galway, one of Ireland’s oldest cities with fine ancient monuments such as Lynch’s Castle and the Spanish Arch.
- Day Four: Full day exploring the delights of the unique Burren National Park and along the coastline to see the dramatic Cliffs of Moher, standing some 500ft above the Atlantic waves.
- Day Five: We return to Dun Laoghaire for the early evening sailing to Holyhead and home to North Wales.
