In recent years Prague has become a number one destination and that’s hardly surprising. This ancient capital of Bohemia is steeped in history and has retained all its magic and unique charm. Straddling the River Vltava, the “Golden City” of Prague is full of architectural gems and contrasts, major sights not to be missed are the famous Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and the nearby Golden Lane, Wenceslas Square, St Vitus Cathedral and much, much more.
ITINERARY
- Day One: Travel to Hull where we board a luxury cruise-ferry for an overnight sailing to Rotterdam.
- Day Two: Travel east into Germany for an overnight stop.
- Day Three: Across the Czech border and on to the beautiful capital city of Prague.
- Day Four: Morning sightseeing tour to include Prague Castle, St. Vitus’ Cathedral, the Royal Palace, St. George’s Basilica and Golden Lane. Remainder of the day at leisure for further exploration, perhaps enjoy a boat cruise on the River Vltava.
- Day Five: Another sightseeing tour starting with the Charles Bridge, then the opposite bank of the Vltava river. See the State Opera House, National Theatre, Staremesto Square, Tyn Cathedral and the Town Hall with its Astrological Clock.
- Day Six: An excursion to Melnik in the centre of Bohemia’s wine-growing region, a beautiful town steeped in history dating back to the 9th century.
- Day Seven: A visit to Karlstejn and its Gothic styled castle, housing treasures and jewels that have been collected by Bohemian Kings.
- Day Eight: We leave Prague and travel back into Germany for another overnight stop.
- Day Nine: Continue back to Holland for our return overnight sailing to Hull.
- Day Ten: After disembarking we head home to North Wales.
