In the midst of the lovely Norfolk countryside lies the city of Norwich, the most complete medieval city in England. Much of the original city wall can still be seen plus merchants houses, half timbered shops, cobblestone lanes and Georgian houses. The centre is dominated by the castle, originally built in 1075 and now a splendid museum. Norwich Cathedral is considered to be one of the finest examples of ecclesiastical architecture in England and one of the best preserved in the country.
